- all your paints, medium, brushes, palette, etc.

Paint in class assignment - Paint "abstracted" cropped shots of graffiti on canvas, ie:
watch "Style Wars"/discussion of graffiti, breakdancing
Artists: Mark Bradford, Deb Grant, Doze Green, Christopher Wool, Tauba Auerbach
Homework for Mon Jan 18: - 3rd project
- text paintings (graffiti, lyrics), pattern, rhythm + repetition on record covers
- buy 9 vinyl records with cover from Salvation Army, Saver's, etc. ie:
- put the covers together in your own way
- Take no more than 8 words from your chosen lyrics and make a painting using its text
- Treat the color as if it were the instrumental track under the text
- Treat the color as if it were the instrumental track under the text
- Use both the colors of the record covers and paints.

It's a great looking movie though, so I would suggest trying to rent it instead of watching it on youtube.
yo rubens. just looking for some clarity as to what exactly is going on in class tomorrow (MLK day)... are we working on our 30x30 canvas paintings from last week, or the homework? I'd assume the 30x30s, but since you said we'd crit on tuesday, I was just curious.
